Problems while uploading highscores into private room

Post by wojoeraf » Sat Dec 27, 2008 2:05 pm

Hi there,

Me and my friend opened a private room (Fred&Pete).
I added him as a roomate and gave him also admin-rights. Bit thats not the problem.
The problem is, that I was at the beginning able to chose our room in the xmoto options and upload my highscores and likewise was my friend able to do this, too. But now while playing the game and drive a new record he can't upload his record. (The error message says: Oh No! cannot connect with Fred&Pete. Although he chose the room Fred&Pete in the options) But I can upload all my records.
Why isn't my friend able to upload his stuff? Is there anything he forgot?

thanks alot
rafi

since recently, to be able to connect on the xmoto website, you must create an account for each xmoto profile (see connexion tab)

Thanks for your reply.

But we both created an account for our profile.
In xmoto options is a password field. There we have to enter the pw of our personal account which we created on the xmoto website, right?
I think we have all things done correct.

Another interesting point is the following: when my friend choses our room in the xmoto options and clicks on the butten for uplaoding his highscores, the programm uploads everytime he's doing this all his highscores. This takes a while so you could think now his highscores are uploaded to the room, but they are not. Thats a bit strange.

mysql> select * from rooms where name like 'Fred%Pete';
+------+---------------+------+----------------------------+
| id | name | motd | auto_validation_for_admins |
+------+---------------+------+----------------------------+
| 1376 | Fred&Pete | | 1 |
+------+---------------+------+----------------------------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

mysql> select login, substr(password, 1, 5) from roomates where id_room = 1376;
+----------+------------------------+
| login | substr(password, 1, 5) |
+----------+------------------------+
| Rafa | b8f47 |
| Daydream | 7de48 |
+----------+------------------------+
2 rows in set (0.01 sec)

mysql>

mysql> select login, substr(password, 1, 5) from players_accounts where login in ("Rafa", "Daydream");
+----------+------------------------+
| login | substr(password, 1, 5) |
+----------+------------------------+
| Daydream | e4edd |
| Rafa | b8f47 |
+----------+------------------------+
2 rows in set (0.00 sec)

mysql>

which mean that the player Daydream doesn't use the same password for the account and the room which is not allow for the moment (in the feature, there will be no more password for the room)
To fix, connect to the room via the website, change your password by putting the one of the account.
I know, it's not very simple, but i've time to take on the website to make it more easy

for the all upload. You're not supposed to use it each time you want to download a highscore.
check www is supposed to avoid the upload of all highscores which are not highscores.
